Well, I recently discovered that our little bubble of fandom is really really isolated and chill and special, even by the standards of the tumblr fandom. WE ARE SO SHELTERED XD; Apparently on the rest of the net there's massive amounts of homophobic wank over the gay subtext-that's-pretty-much-text, enough that I want to stay away from the main fandom. I'm happy in my bubble, thanks.
As far as our bubble goes - like Puzzle said, most of the wank revolves around hating the lead female character for daring to exist, but people chilled the fuck out about that after the ending (right? I can't imagine why not. She's so awesome that even the haters can no longer deny it.)
BUT ASLKFJSLKJ YES WATCH THIS SHOW. It's like FMA in that the good parts of the fandom are good enough to outweight the batshit, even if the batshit is at times louder. The relationship between the two MCs is just fascinating and worth all the continuity hiccups of the anime as I sit here crying myself to sleep each night waiting for official novel translations that may never come into existence :'D

^ ...See, this is why I pretty much avoid fandom. I'm happy inside my bubble, under the impression that everyone loves each other and that the world is made of rainbows and sunshine and fandoms who hold hands and sing Kumbayah. And then I become freaked out at all the wank outside it and become afraid to even mention the series I like to people. OTL

^ON A HAPPIER NOTE, SPEAKING OF MENTIONING THE SERIES TO PEOPLE - I have one of my roomies watching No. 6 now, and she's helping me try to convince the others to watch it too. One of 'em is a theater kid who gets emotional about Shakespeare so he really needs to watch it because Nezumi XD
I think I threw them off when I described it as "the most heterosexual anime ever" even when I quickly explained that by "most heterosexual" I meant "really gay." I do know that they, like me, would appreciate that no big deal is made of Nezumi and Sion's genders, so I hope they didn't think I meant it was all stereotypical shonen-ai/yaoi/gay for the sake of fanservice to straight people, because it's really not.
But I will convert them yet. Oh yes I will. And I'll help reinstate communal Brohood nights (THIS IS A THING. I'VE MENTIONED IT MANY TIMES BEFORE BUT I STILL CAN'T GET OVER IT. I LOVE MY ROOMMATES.)

My best friend is sleeping over and she fell asleep. I threw three pillows at her face and she has not stirred. SHE MAY BE DEAD.

Yes, this was one of many things I liked about it- it focused more on Nezumi and Sion's relationship instead of doing that fanservice-relationship thing, which would probably have made it seem less personal. So this weekend, I volunteered at a fantasy trail, which is basically where volunteers dress up as fairy tale characters and give out candy to kids.
Sounds innocent enough... but for some reason, at least 10 kids decided to come as BEEEEEES.

^ There were bunches of kids dressed as BEEEEEES last night. I would shout "BEEEES!" every time I saw one. xD My mom was the only person who got the reference.
