I assume by now most of you have heard about TokyoPop US deciding to shut down. (If not, info is here: www.tokyopop.com/Stu/tp_article/3203033.html) No word yet on if their series might be picked up, but I personally am inconsolable at the loss of translated Silver Diamond volumes. That's one of my all-time favorite series, second ONLY to Yugioh! ;____; My copy of volume 9 arrived yesterday and I'm dying, DYING I say to read volume 10, which is available for pre-order, but it's not set to release until June 5th, six days after their closing deadline. I really hope they'll release it, but I have my doubts. =/ Don't want to get my hopes up. I'm bummed about Hetalia, too, but that's such a popular series, I'm sure another company will want to pick that up. SD is far less known, and will be the one I mourn most. T__T (Luckily I have the complete set of Animal Academy, and they dropped Rave Master and Kindaichi years ago so I never expected them to be completed.) How about you guys? Are there any TokyoPop series you're reading and will miss?

Recently, I started reading a series called 'The Secret Notes of Lady Kanoko'. It's about a girl who spends her time objectively observing her classmates' behavior and logging all their actions in her notebook and inevitably gets involved in their issues anyway.
It's only two volumes in and I have no idea how long it's supposed to be, but it's pretty obscure and I'd hate to think no other company would pick it up. I mean, sure, I can look for it online, but I prefer to have the retail manga. I only use scantilations if I have no other option.
Really, just the fact that Tokyopop is shutting down at all upsets me more than anything else.

Yeah, scanlations aren't the same to me as having the translated volumes. They're not the same as having a book you can hold and read. =(

That's all I can say.
I hope someone else picks up the Sgt. Frog manga. DDDD:
