I thought this would be theh logical next step in the 'other fandom' thing we have going on. Also, I like a lot of anime, and any excuse to rant is good. xD
So, let's see. The first anime I ever really watched (excluding whatever random episodes of pokemon or Avatar or whatever I caught on TV when I was younger) was Ouran High School Host Club. Hilarious and awesome, and got me into FMA along with anime in general. xD Ouran led into FMA a few months later, considering some similarities in the English dub, and FMA led me into...well, everything else.
I'll only think of a few off the top of my head...CLAMP stuff, like Chobits and xxxHoLIC, Bleach, Lucky Star (such a pointless yet awesome show xD) The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (again, amazing, highly reccommended, and really weird xP).
I watched a bit of Soul Eater but never really got into it, still working on Death Note...oh, and Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, my current favorite. That show is...jhfd,sjhf. So, so screwed up, yet so, so awesome. I love it xD
There's many others, but I'll let you guys post first. So what are your favorites? Any to reccommend? Any you hate? Want to get an opinion on one you're thinking of watching? Post here!

Funny thing is I don't really watch anime. Chobits, Oh My Goddess, Hetalia, OHSHC, Bleach, Lucky Star, Haruhi Suzumiya, Death Note, When They Cry (I believe that's Higurashi, right?), Hell Girl (I LOVE HELL GIRL), Cowboy Bebop. Those are the only ones I've really watched, and I've only ever seen Death Note and FMA all the way through. XD I can't afford/don't have time to watch anime as much as I want to, though I do love it a lot.

Yep, When They Cry is Higurashi. And I freaking love you for having it on your list. Actually, I like most of your list, as you have a lot of my favorites. ;D

I'm honestly not into anime at all (far too infested with sparkly-eyed, superpowered Mary Sues for my liking, lol), but I do appreciate it as a wonderful form of storytelling, and there are some rare gems that I really like.
To me, FMA is the greatest anime (and possibly one of the greatest stories) of all time, so it will always be at the top of my list. Bleach and Ouran are my guilty pleasures. It was actually Bleach that first warmed me up to the anime genre, so I have a soft spot for it. I've also watched all the way through Death Note (a bit dark for my taste, but L is way too awesome). I'm also familiar with Ghost In A Shell and Cowboy Bebop (and addicted to both their theme songs, lol), but I haven't had time to really sit down and watch either of them. My dad just likes to rant on and on about them. xD
Oh yeah, I also watched D.N. Angel just 'cause Vic was in it. Probably the most wasted week of my life. The opening is the best thing about it. xD
OOOOH YES have any of you heard of Generator Gawl? It was one of Vic's first leading roles, and the anime was directed by the same person who did the first FMA series. There's lots of angst and action and plot twists...even the ending is similar. xD I watched it on YouTube a while ago. It's pretty good!

I don't watch much anime either...mostly I read manga. It's really tough for me to keep up with anime and manga is easier to obsessively collect and hoard. =B
Obviously Yugioh and its spin-offs are my favorite. x3 Other anime I've seen and enjoyed well enough include FMA, Gravitation, some of Black Cat, all of Rave Master before it went off the air, some of Hetalia, some of Azumanga Daioh, some of Yu Yu Hakusho, some of Shaman King and a bit of Zoids Fuzors or whatever that show was called. xD
Manga, on the other hand!! - Yugioh + spin-offs (Series 0, R, GX, 5Ds, and the new series, Zexal, when it finally comes out.) - Silver Diamond - Koori no Mamono no Monogatari - FMA - Black Cat - Hetalia - Azumanga Daioh - Rave Master - Kindaichi Case Files - Animal Academy - Wild @ Heart - Nora: Last Chronicle of Devildom - Gravitation - Legal Drug (the three volumes that CLAMP bothered to put out... B|) - Black Butler - Some Hands Off - Some Lucky Star - Some Hikaru no Go - Some DNAngel - Some Yu Yu Hakusho - Some Shaman King - Some Zatch Bell - numerous one-shots (including Color, Cafe Lotte Rhapsody and Tsuki to Mizu no Yoru, three of my favorites. <3)

I also mostly read manga. I have this system where I buy the first volume of a certain series and only the first volume. If I like it, then I buy more or read it online.
To date I've accumulated 209 volume ones.

myanimelist.net/profile/Inguredo-chan^ That pretty much lists it all, but... honestly, the only anime I like enough to venture into the fandom besides FMA are Hetalia and Ouran. Though, honestly, I liked Aishiteruze Baby and Peach Girl, just... not as much as the others. Manga, on the other hand... -Hetalia -Ouran -Death Note (almost finished) -Peach Girl -Aishiteruze Baby -Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen (loved this; read it in a day). -not simple. -Arakawa's other works - like Hero Tales, Raiden-18, Souten no Koumori, Demons of Shanghai, and Stray Dog. ...Honestly, I'm mainly a fantasy/sci-fi geek, and I'm more intent on owning every episode of Doctor Who available in the US (I have most of the new series, yay~) than buying new anime and manga. (Also, passing my AP and honours classes. That's nice, too.) And when it comes to anime and manga, I honestly usually prefer shojo. It's... amusing. (Though a lot of it is completely stupid, there are some good ones). But I'll watch or read anything once, if it catches my attention.

OMG DOCTOR WHO YESSSSSS *high-fives* Fantasy/scifi geeks rule! ;D
I haven't gone NEAR any shojo besides Ouran and D.N. Angel. It kinda...scares me. O.o I'll take superpowered warriors of justice over mushy, sparkly-eyed romances any day. (And I'll take a good fantasy/scifi novel over any of that, lol.)

I never realized D.N Angel was a Shojo. Guess it makes sense now that I think about it.... I basically won't watch any anime that I'm not recomended because I'm too lazy to find ones I like on my own xD My favorite is still Fullmetal Alchemist and will likely be for quite a while. I haven't finished to many animes other than FMA and FMAB. I like Death Note but I wasn't nuts about. I've watched the entire first season of Hell Girl and am in the process of watching the second (But It's a slow process because it's only subbed ) I like When They Cry too, but I can't watch it on my own because I have to know when it's gonna get gory so I can close my eyes ^^" I've watched all of Black Butler but the ending both depressed and disappointed me so I'm going to assume the manga is better and read that. I LOVE Soul Eater but again, the ending disappointed me. (Maka punches him and he explodes. What the hell?) Again, hoping the manga's better. Ouran High School Host Club was one of th rare shojos I liked. I always watch anime before reading the manga because I've found I don't like the anime when I read the manga first. Anyway, I'll stop rambling. xD

Ahh, Black Butler, forgot to add that to my list! (I've only read the first couple volumes of the manga, but they were really fun and good. Having heard that anime is disappointing from a few different people, I suppose I won't even bother an attempt at it.)
