(WOW, I haven't posted here in a while! I miss you guys!) *snugs all* Not that any of you remember or care, but I know I mentioned once or twice that I write music. Before I ever got into writing or making videos - before I even touched a computer - I was a songwriter! And I still am! *blingbling* I've finally got a YouTube music channel up *shameless plug* so I thought, "Hey, why not drag my stuff over here too!" ;D Anyway...anyone in the mood for Christmas in March? =DD (Even if you're not...well, anything with Latin in it is automatically awesome! In my book, anyway.) I'm not the greatest singer in the world, but I hope you enjoy this anyway!

...Someone fetch me a jaw-dropping gif or in-awe reaction image, STAT. Because I have no words. All the reaction images I have are Yugioh. OTL
sdkja;lkfj;a I don't recall you mentioning that you wrote music! That video is amazing. I love your voice, it reminds me of a band I quite like and holy crap you can hit some epic notes. Did you also create the background music too?

....
Could I (seriously) hire you to write and/or co-write songs for me? Or work something out with you? Because legit, that's awesome, and I'm working on a demo right now and this is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for.
I LUFF YOU. D:

Aw geez, you guys are making me blush. xD Puzzle, thanks for the compliments on my voice! I've never been super confident in my singing, but I'm happy you liked it so much! <3 And yep, I made the background music too. ^__^
Lol, I LUFF YOU TOO TARA :'D Oooh, a demo? Cool! ...what's a demo? I think it'd be a blast to write/co-write stuff with you! That's something I'd love to do someday, actually...team up with a good singer or band and write stuff for them. That'd be so cool... *daydreams*
Um...the only thing is that I can't write dark or "edgy" songs to save my life 'cause I'm too full of flowers and sunshine and puppies and magic wardrobes lol, so...if that happens to be your style, you might want to find a better person for the job. Not that I won't try my best at it...just giving you a heads-up, just in case. It's pretty much impossible for me to write anything dark without tacking on a happy ending. xD

AH! FINALLY! I'M FREE FROM MY CLASSES! FRRREEEEDOOOOMMMM!!!! *runs in happy circles* Okay guys...now I know I'm officially an FMA geek. I've gone and made a fandub. xD I wasn't crazy about this song at first; but when I took time to really listen to it, I was struck by the lovely harmonies and how beautifully melodic it was. And once I looked up some english translations of the lyrics, I thought, "Wow, there's some beautiful emotion in this." It's angsty, but also hopeful; and that's a mix I can never resist. =) So I played around a bit and did my best to write up a decent english version of it. I also couldn't get past how insanely Conqueror-of-Shamballa-ish the song felt; it sounded so much like Ed stuck in our world, missing his brother and trying to find a way back to him. Possibly Winry, too. I think this works great for EdWin AND the Elric brotherly love we all adore. (In other words, I'm shamelessly fangirly for both and I'LL READ ANYTHING INTO THIS SONG THAT I WANT, KAY??) I've taken some artistic liberties, here and there (none of those "alleluia's" are in the original, but the word the singer was singing sounded awfully similar to it and I couldn't get it out of my brain. And it sounded pretty. So I put it in. Sue me). =P But I tried hard to capture the spirit of the song. Feel free to critique it! I'm pretty new at this fandubbing thing, so any feedback and concrits are more than welcome! EDIT: Almost forgot...here's the original translation, if you're curious: atashi.wordpress.com/2010/05/04/fullmetal-alchemist-brotherhood-5th-ending-theme-ray-of-light/

ONCE AGAIN I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY. Luckily, this time I brought a reaction image: I mean...that was just incredible. I've always sort of wished there was a way to turn the English translations of Japanese songs into songs of their own, but I've never known anyone who could really DO it! I'm no expert, but to my ears you've got phenomenal talent for singing, and I love the lyrics you chose for it. It was gorgeous. The little bit at the end made me laugh so much, too. It was fun. xD (Congrats on being free from classes!)

OMG I LOVE THAT REACTION IMAGE. No Dean, YOU'RE awesome. <33
Lol, same here! 90% of the english fandubs I've bothered listening to are...not that good. xD I think so many fans try so hard to stay faithful to the original Japanese that they don't think about how English ought to sound when they make their lyrics; and so it comes out all awkward. They stretch the words in ways they weren't meant to be stretched. Different languages have their own rhythms and sounds, and need to be handled accordingly. Not trying to sound like a know-it-all; just sayin'. When I made my fandub, I didn't want to make a perfectly faithful adaptation...I wanted to make a version that would work for MY language, while still capturing the beautiful spirit and message that was in the Japanese one.
And I guess it worked! ^__^ I'm so happy you liked the lyrics! (And geez, quit showering praise on my voice, would ya? I might actually start believing it!) xD Ahaha, I'm glad you enjoyed my little jingle too! That ditty wouldn't stop going through my head, so I had to do something with it before it drove my crazy...like Vic Mignogna and his "Soldier A" song...
