I can't believe I didn't think of this before...

Let's face it. FMA has some of the most epic bromances in the entire HISTORY of bromance, and they deserve just as much love and obsession as all the romantic stuff. Heck, the bromances alone are what got me so crazy about this series in the first place! I think it's high time we give them their own special place in our beloved little corner of the internet. ;D

No, this is NOT for yaoi or shounen-ai or "boy love" or whatever you wanna call it. NO YAOI ALLOWED. That's what the the Non-Canon Pairings thread is for. This thread is strictly for all the awesome, dynamic duo, brotherly/parental/best-friend kind of relationships - like Ed and Al, Roy and Hughes, Ed and Ling, Ed and Roy and any others you can think of. (Sig and Armstrong, maybe?) xD So feel free to spam us with fic and fanart and AMVS and rants about your favorites and why they're awesome. Anything bromancy is welcome!

I love Ed and Al's bromance. It almost makes me wish I had a sibling to share that kind of bond with. Except then I realize I like being an only child. xD

Me too. :3 I freaking love those two. They're the driving force of the series, their sacrifices make me cry too damn often, and...-insert looong rant about them-

Actually, I've always viewed the Ed/Roy relationship as more of a brotherly thing. I'm not quite sure why, I guess it's just because I can't imagine Ed acting very...son-like. Yeah, sorry, my brain doesn't make much sense right now. xD;

Lol yeah, Roy's kind of like the annoying older brother he never had. Gotta love the rivalry. xD But I can't deny my soft spot for parental!Roy/Ed fics...

I said in a comment on Funimation's FMA Day blog that FMA is ultimately a love story about two brothers, and I still believe that to be true. Sure, the alchemy's cool and the plot is epic, but underneath all that, it's Ed and Al's selfless love for each other that catches at your heart and gives the story so much power. I actually think they fit the idea of "soulmates" better than any romantic couple I've ever seen. (Or at least, MY idea of soulmates.) =P

Which reminds me...someone took the Royai 100 themes and set them to Ed and Al instead, and it worked out beautifully. You can read the collection here, if you ever find yourself craving some angsty/fluffy brotherly goodness. There's a bit of parental!Roy/Ed mixed in, too. Griselda's done some wonderful stuff.

I always thought Roy was sort of a big brother to Ed, too, though it's a tad more than that in the first anime. My favorite bromance has got to be Ed and Ling, though.

Gosh, Ed and Ling... xD They are hilarious together. Whenever I overdose on angsty Elric bromance, they are the perfect antidote. Their interactions never fail to put a grin on my face. Sometimes, Ling starts feeling like a third Elric brother to me...the one who provides the comic relief and shakes things up when Ed and Al get too gloomy. (Though he does have some awesome serious moments as well...)
