So who else besides me and Crow have read the epic Ed/Hei fanfic Mirrorworld? It can be found on LJ and ff.net with the harmless sounding summary of: Ed managed to prove that he was truly from a different world, and Alfons finds himself captive in Ed's dream of opening the Gate. HeiEd, premovie, AU.Let's just say there's a loooooot more to it than just that. xD Basically, it's a post-first-series fic that takes the place of CoS. And it's EXCELLENT. Heck, this fic is what spawned Dramaverse! Now, granted, because I have no soul I've had my issues with the fic and stopped reading it for awhile because of them. (Although I did catch up recently and I'm happy with some of the recent developments.) That said, issues or not, I can recognize a great writer when I see one, and Ketita has talent. Not only does she do well at capturing the characterizations of people, but she writes it well enough that I'm completely ready to believe it's canon, not just fic. I dream of someday having such talent. ;~; If you're in the mood to read an epic-long story, start here! But be warned, it's 41 chapters and counting, and many of them have been around 10,000 words apiece as of late. You might want to clear your schedule. It's rated R, so there's adult language and some semi-explicit sex. And it's safe to say there will probably be spoilers for it cropping up in this thread. xD BEWARE. |

YES YES THEY WERE AWESOME. (Well, in a couple places it was like, SERIOUSLY, YOU'RE GOING THERE? YOU ARE? HOLY CRAP. in terms of "can this situation get any worse?" xD)
BUT NOW I'M CURIOUS WHAT THE BIG SECRET PLAN IS THAT WILL TURN THE CASE UPSIDE DOWN.

Yeah, it had to get worse before it got better, definitely XDDD; I loved Al going "He's good for you. Keep him." like it's totally his choice. Also, I blame my kids, but I am wanting to mother-hen Ed like WHOA. I mean, he's older than I am in this fic, but ohmygod I just want to wrap him in a down blanket and force-feed him chamomile tea and stroke his hair back and tell him everything will be all right. He'd be super weirded out, but JEEZE that kid needs some love. (I am glad he has Alfons <3)

^ I liked that too, mostly because I was sick to death of all this rivalry running around, so to see everyone finally aknowledging what each person means to each other was like, "criminy, about bloody time." It made me happy to see Al accepting it and letting Ed know that he did. Plus, well, Ed's kind of a dope sometimes. He might need to be told that once in a while to remember what he has. ^^;
ALSO ALSO, ED CAN SEE NOW. =DDDD That was kind of a HELL TO THE FUCKING YES moment.

Well, the rivalry shit had to happen. What I love about this fic is that it doesn't take the easy way out - real people get nasty with each other, and take forfreakingever to sort things out again. It's emotionally taxing to read, sure, but I personally love some realistic drama (because it's so much easier to deal with than *actual* drama CX)

YES. ALSO ALCHEMY. BWAHAHAHAA YES. The kissy scene was adoooorable, and poor Ed, ultimate happiness and ULTIMATE DESPAIR within five seconds of each other XD;
THAT IS SERIOUSLY THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT OF. I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT THAT'S WHERE YOU WERE GOING WITH IT AND I WAS CONFUSED WHEN IT TURNED OUT TO BE SERIOUS.

Yes, yes, I know it was necessary for the realism. And I'm a hypocrite because I've been known to write drama aplenty and sic it on other people. That doesn't mean I like it when I'm reading something. I'M ILLOGICAL AND I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT PLEASE DON'T HATE ME. ;__; (I think part of my issue is how it almost reads like a love triangle. Obviously it's not in the usual sense, but there's still two people kind of competing and jealous with each other over another person. And love triangles and jealousy seriously make me feel sick. So...yeah. Weird idiosyncrasy. I'm just glad the plot can finally move on now.)
Poor Al too. xD On one hand, "yay, my brother can see again!" and on the other, "of course, now he'll find out what happened to me and it'll break his heart and I'll be responsible for causing him more pain." /o\
NO SERIOUSLY. I MEANT I WANT TO KNOW ED'S PLAN TO WIN THIS COURT THING. xDD
