Another is a horror/mystery anime in the Winter 2012 line up, based on a novel by Yukito Ayatsuji.
It starts in 1972 when Misaki, a popular third year student in Class 3 of Yomiyama Middle School, dies under mysterious circumstances. The rest of Class 3, shocked and devestated, resolve to pretend it never happened and act as though Misaki is still alive. At graduation that year, something terrifying shows up in Class 3-3's group photo- Misaki.
Fast foward to 1998, Kouichi Sakakibara is a new student at Yomiyama and assigned to Class 3-3. He is late starting school due to a pneumothorax keeping him in the hospital. There, he meets a quiet young girl who wears an eyepatch and the Yomiyama school uniform. Her name is Mei Misaki.
At school, Kouichi finds that Mei is in his class. Strangely enough, no one but him ever talks to or even acknowledges her. Whenever Kouichi asks about Mei, his classmates become scared and refuse to answer. One of them finally tells Kouichi, 'Dont' bother with things that don't exist.' This makes Kouichi very uneasy and suspicious of Mei's true nature.
And then his classmates start dying.
Currently, 6 out of 12 episodes have been aired, and things are starting to come together. There is still a lot more to be explained, and I'm greatly looking forward to it.
